Social Salsa Nights at Millbrook Lodge Hotel, Ballynahinch
To provide an opportunity for Salsa Fresca members to put those steps into practice and to socialise with other Salsa Fresca members, social nights are held on the last Tuesday of every month at the Millbrook Lodge Hotel, Ballynahinch. Beginners classes will continue as usual on these nights but will finish puntually at 9:30pm to allow all members to practice between 9:30 and 10:45pm.

Join Salsa Fresca for a fun packed week-end of dancing and workshops at Downings Bay Hotel. It is particularly recommended to members who wish to experience a social week-end of dancing and socialising with other salsafresca members and friends. The week-end includes two nights bed and breakfast, workshops all day Saturday and half day Sunday, a Friday night dance and a Saturday night dinner dance. Beginners Refresher Course and Social, Groomsport Harbour Boat House - Sat 20 Oct 2007
This is a chance for Beginners who started the season late or those who missed a few lessons to get up to speed in one quick blast. There will be three workshops between 2:30 and 5:30pm costing £15 - Optional meal at Stables Restaurant at 6:00pm followed by an evening social in the Boat House at 8:30pm. Workshops can be booked at any Salsafresca class - no need to book for social.
UK Salsa Congress - Fri 12 Oct - Mon 15th Oct 2007
Now in its sixth year this congress is one of the best, attracting fantastic international teachers and performers. This years event will be in Bournemouth and has the advantage of being in a more cental location. Salsa Fresca members should make their own bookings for the congress direct with Salsa-Uk. Details on accommodation are also provided on this website. It will probably not be possible for everyone to stay in the same place as most Guest Houses have limited accommodation. For those wishing to join the main group, we will be flying from Belfast City to Southampton on Friday 12th Oct at 10:05 with Flybe, returning on Mon 15th at 16:00. Other flights are available and it is also possible to fly with Easyjet from Belfast International to Gatwick. Both Airports have good rail links to Bournemouth, though Southhampton is closer. For those who have never been to a congress before this is a great congress close to home, with workshops at all levels from Beginners to Advanced. As ever, please book early as prices increase closer to the event.

This evening is a courtesy evening hosted by Salsafresca as a thankyou to all past members who have supported us over the years. A fun warm-up will commence at 8:30pm followed by social dancing. All past members and friends are welcome to attend.
New York Salsa Congress - Thur 30th Aug - Mon 3rd Sept 2007
After last summers salsa classes on New York Mambo, Salsa Fresca members are gearing up for Salsa at the Big Apple. This is the big one at the New York Hilton right in the middle of Manhatten. The Congress includes workshops for Beginners to Advanced in both LA Style Salsa and New York Mambo (otherwise known as Salsa on 2) as well as evening performances and dancing till the early hours of the morning at the Hilton Ballroom. I went two years ago to this event and have no hesitation in recommending it for both Salsa and enjoyment. You will definitely see some of the best dancers in the world and the central location provides a great opportunity to take in New York. A full pass for the Salsa Congress is currently $250 but goes up to $275 from 1st April and continues to rise in stages up to the event, so if you are going it is better to book sooner rather than later. Hotel accommodation at the Hilton is significantly reduced for those going to the congress ( $163 plus tax per room per night for a single or double room - this rate is also extended 3 days before and 3 days after the Congress). Both the Congress and Hotel can be booked online at the New York Salsa website above. I recommend those who wish to join the Salsa Fresca group to go over on the morning of Wed 29th Aug so as to hit the congress fresh on the 30th, returning on the evening of Monday 3rd Sept. Direct flights from Belfast with Continental Airways are available on these dates at very decent times and may be booked on-line at www.continental.com. Price is currently £440. Please note that your passport number is required when booking and for some reason the submission would not accept Northern Ireland or Co Down as a region of the UK when entered, but did accept Down. For those wanting to go independently from the group, cheaper flights are also available from Dublin with Aerlinus.com although times are not quite as convenient and extra travel is involved. Finally, once booked, make sure to get some practice in New York Mambo before you go - class starting with Salsa Fresca soon.

Brit Salsafest - Blackpool, 2nd - 5th February 2007
Join members of Salsa Fresca for a week-end of workshops and dancing at the Brit Salsafest this February. This promises to be a great week-end held at the famous Winter Gardens in Blackpool. Salsa at the Island Arts Centre, Lisburn - Sat 25th November 2006
Enjoy a day of workshops and dancing with Salsa Fresca in the main theatre of the Island Arts Centre. The afternoon starts with a 2 hour introductory workshop for Beginners commencing at 3:30pm. The evening event commences at 7:30pm with an Advanced Beginners workshop followed by an Improvers workshop at 8:30pm. Dancing continues until midnight.
